Current Obsession: Uniqlo's Heattech Collection

Staying warm without loads of bulky layers is the name of the game all winter, and our easy, affordable go-to is the Heattech collection from Uniqlo. Haven't heard of Uniqlo? They're a budget-friendly, stylish-but-practical Japanese retailer we've been enjoying here in New York City since 2006, but they've just launched their national e-commerce this week. With their perpetual lines in-store, even we are psyched about shopping online.

We're not going to pretend to understand the highly-scientific technology behind Uniqlo's Heattech layering pieces, but we can attest that for the past few years they've made cold weather dressing way more tolerable. Think long underwear warmth in clothing styles you'd actually want to show off. Also: every item in the collection comes in an array of great colors, is true-to-size (crucial for online ordering), and costs under $20. The scoopneck long sleeve t-shirt ($14.90) is awesome under sweaters, cozy vests, or sleeveless dresses. The on-trend stripped turtleneck ($19.90) would look adorable with skinny jeans and boots or a leather skirt. The tights ($12.90) keep legs warm and are strong so they won't rip. And the knee socks (two pairs for $12.90) are nice and toasty even in snow.
