My Black is Beautiful celebrates the ladies of New Orleans

In between lively sets by New Orleans artists and juicy interviews with music industry heavy hitters, we carved out some time to stop by P&G’s My Black is Beautiful event for all the latest and greatest in beauty—and the scoop on all the summer trends.

My Black is Beautiful is a movement that celebrates the beauty of black women everywhere, and that’s exactly what this event did.  The room was filled with energetic ladies revved up for a day of pampering. Our first stop was at the Olay for You studio for some skin prep: mini-massages and consultations. Then, we headed over to the Covergirl Queen Collection Touch-up Beauty Bar.  Here, celebrity makeup artist Thomas Dye treated women to a glamorous makeover, making sure to highlight summer’s hot lip color:  bright pink.  To round out each new look, everyone paid a visit to Pantene’s Relaxed & Natural Touch-up Beauty Bar to tame that Deep South frizz into luscious, smooth hair.  And last, the ladies of New Orleans put their best smiles and styles forward with the always-in-vogue, hottest accessory—a bright white smile—at the Crest Smile Wall, where attendees picked up the latest whitening strips.  Everybody walked away with some fabulous beauty swag—and a great sense of confidence for a night on the town.
