Best date night hairstyles

Sometimes it’s hard to the find time to test out new looks but a date-night that you’re looking forward provides the perfect incentive. In this episode, celebrity hairstylist Michiko Boorberg shows us how to create three sexy new looks from updos to smooth waves, and then we show you the perfect outfits to go with them. Enjoy!

A braided side bun

This style is a great way for ladies with long hair to show off nape of the neck. The first step is to create a side ponytail, then braid it and tie the end with an elastic. Loosen the braid a little bit and wrap it around the base of the ponytail like a bun. Secure the bun with bobby pins. It’s supposed to be relaxed and slightly messy so don’t worry about making it too slick!

A braided side bang with smooth waves

Sometimes a subtle sexy detail is what does the trick. Use a medium barrel curling iron to add waves to your hair all around. After you make each curl, pull down on each one to give it that relaxed tousled effect. Run your fingers through the curled hair and add volume to the crown with a little teasing and hairspray. To finish, take a small section of the bang and braid it towards the ear. Finish with an elastic and secure the braid with a bobby pin.

A half-up, half-down head of curls

With this look you get to show off your natural tresses without hiding under them! Start by teasing one-inch sections at the crown for volume and setting with hair spray. Pull them back to give some height and secure with bobby pins. Next part the hair starting one inch above the ear, pull it back and afix to the teased sections with more bobby pins.
