The Braid-y Bunch

This past weekend, the girls of Lollapalooza were all twisted and tied up. Or at least their hair was. Sneak a peek at our favorite braided hairstyles from this weekend!

The Katniss

If you have locks like this festival girl, you can't go wrong with the long, straight side-braid. Equally at home in the Arena as it as a music festival, you can make Cinna proud--yes, we're this nerdy--and keep your hair out of your face and off your neck. With length like this, you'll need to look out for breakage, too. Protect your tresses with Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Strengthening Therapy Masque, and the odds will ever be in your hair's favor.

Pigtails: Updated

Not your average Pippi Longstocking look. These pigtails are less tight--and less bendy--creating a softer and more romantic style. To achieve this look, simply braid equal sections of hair on either side of your head, but make sure to go in afterwards and gently separate with your fingers. Dodge frizz with a product like Fekkai's Smooth Sailing Anti-Frizz Cream--it'll quench the thirst of dry summer hair and cut-down on flyaways. Add a bit more interest like this girl and add a neon bandana tied in a retro way for a look that's totally fun and festival appropriate!

Fishy Fishy

The perfect fishtail side-braid is the style that continually mystifies our writing staff. For help, we had to crash the hair and makeup studio of The Shine for expert advice. To get a braid as fierce as this festival goer's, use these tips:

Begin with your hair in a low pony tail and split in to two equal sections.
Take small (like, super small) sections of hair from the outside of each of the two sections and cross them over to the center.
Work your way down until you reach the end and tie off with a hair elastic.
For a looser, messier look, you can go in and separate each section with your fingers.

Top off with a straw fedora and candy-colored sunnies like this girl did and you're festival-ready and fabulous.
