Celebrity Back-to-School Fashion Lines

For most kids, the best part of heading back to school is all the shopping that goes along with it. Exciting, yes. But add it all up and those cozy fall sweaters, skinny jeans and jackets can be painfully expensive. Thankfully, we've got some good news. To kick off the school year, a whole slew of young celebrities have designed trend-driven, affordable lines that are sure to please fashion-forward shoppers and their parents.

Miley Cyrus and Max Azria's collaboration collection for Walmart, has an "edgy, UK style", at least that's how Miley describes it. I love the military jacket (a huge trend for fall, btw), the black leggings with lace detail and the camouflage skinny pants. Amazingly, everything is priced at or under $20.

When we met Selena Gomez, who is even more adorable in person than she looks on camera, she told us that it was extremely important to her to make Dream Out Loud, her first collection, affordable. Her designs are sold exclusively at Kmart and they range from Boho chic to polished glam to comfy casual. My favorite piece is the dress that looks like a black skirt with a cobalt top and a belt. She's got a great collection of accessories as well from scarves (her favorite) to necklaces and hats, all under $24.

Madonna and daughter Lourdes just launched Material Girl for Macy's, a collection of 80s-inspired looks with a punk edge that remind me of early Madonna's unique take on fashion. Yes there are fingerless gloves! The cropped motorcycle jacket, the one spokesmodel Taylor Momsen loves, is a must-have and so is the stripped/floral mini dress.

Mary-Kate and Ashley have so many lines now, it's hard to keep track. Most are out of our price range which is why we are so excited about their latest, Olsenboye, which is about to hit the racks at JCPenney. Leave it to the Olsens to mix Western and punk, military and girly, and somehow make it all look natural.

Lauren Conrad's clothing line, LC Lauren Conrad, available at Kohl's has more of a glam, sophisticated vibe. My favorite look is her flower tee with fluttery sleeves paired with a denim mini. I also love the skirt I'm wearing in the episode which happens to be from her collection, too.

And one more option for you, Britney has designed a limited edition line for Candie's. Now, whether or not you think of her as a style icon, these clothes are not half bad. The cutoff denim shorts are a nice basic and the leopard print tank with chain detail at the neck would look great with jeans and a blazer.
