Drew's Smokin' Hot Fashion Statements
Drew Barrymore has practically grown up on the red carpet. And now that she's about to walk the carpet again at the Golden Globe's- she's nominated for her dead-on portrayal of Little Edie in "Grey Gardens"- we thought we'd take a look back at her playful, sexy, trendsetting, ever-evolving style.
What I love most about Drew is her willingness to try new things. You never know what hair color she's going to have or what designer she's going to step out in. Some celebrities look like they're "working" the red carpet, literally, as if dressing up and posing for the cameras is a perfunctory part of their job requirement. Drew makes fashion FUN. Sometimes she'll flaunt her curves in solid black. Sometimes she's all about rich jewel tones and a vintage silhouette. Sometimes she's a Greek goddess with a flowy, draping gown.
She's also a master at picking the right accessories- something I find particularly challenging. Drew was ahead of the curve with statement necklaces and gumball-size cocktail rings. She uses her hair as an accessory, too, if you think about it. We've seen Drew channel Marilyn Monroe with a teased blonde bob and an auburn Kim Novak with a sleek, sophisticated updo. She's even experimented with daring black tips! Ok, maybe that wasn't my favorite, look but I love the fact that she went for it.
As someone who loves playing with makeup more than anything, I also appreciate her dramatic choices in that department. Drew can pull off mod hot pink lips and thick black eyeliner or bold lashes and classic red lips, but it's her signature smoky eye that I love the most.
With this much personality-on and off the red carpet- Drew can do no wrong in our books.
