Get Kate Bosworth’s "Lucky" cover look

We loved the understated glam of Kate's preppy-chic look on the January cover of Lucky magazine so much that we invited deputy editor Stephanie Trong to our studio to create an affordable version for one of our Thread viewers. Watch to see where to score a $100 dress that's similar in feel to the form-fitting Carven Kate wore!

The "Lucky" Look

Kate's personal style is polished with an edge. And that goes for her hair and makeup, too. She loves to mix high and low (we tagged her in a pair of Topshop jeans and Chloe boot)- and her adorable, Lucky magazine preppy-chic look is also a mix of prices. She's accessorized her ruched, form-fitting Carven dress ($1210) with a $9 yellow skinny belt from Paris Blues. Her gorgeous "pearl wand" drop earrings and set of three "trinity" rings are both $30 from Kate's own jewelry collection, JewelMint. Her diamond detailed gold bracelet is another story. It's by Cartier and costs $3,925.

The Budget-Friendly Version

Stephanie put together a look for less for a Lauren, 25, a Thread fan from Connecticut who always admired Kate's style, particularly the Suno tie-dyed halter dress she wore to the Coachella music festival. Stephanie found a neutral, form-fitting dress from Topshop for $100 that echoed the Carven's silhouette. Underneath she added a collared sleeveless shirt from Skinny Shirt ($68), which is great for layering because it doesn't add bulk. She kept the same yellow belt because of the fabulous affordable $9 price. For accessories, Stephanie went with a $48 gold bracelet from Judith Bright in addition to the same JewelMint earrings and rings that Kate wore.
