Holiday party dress codes -- decoded!
Doesn't it feel like there are more holiday parties than EVER this year? There's the office party, your best friend's tree-decorating party, your boyfriend's company party, the charity gala, the annual extended family holiday dinner, and, the mother of all parties, the NYE party! And they've all got these cryptic dress codes like "business attire," "black tie optional," "festive," or "holiday casual." In addition to figuring out how you're going to smile and charm your way through each of these in one piece, there's the issue of What To Wear. Keeping in mind that you've all saved your holiday shopping until the last minute and are going to be broke (as I have/am), all of the below options are under $100 -- from head to toe. And the advice is free!
If the invite calls for Business Attire, your look should be versatile and classy.
If the invite calls for Casual Chic, your look should be breezy, yet polished.
If the invite says Festive, your look should be dramatic and fun.
If the invite says Black Tie Optional, your look should be fancy and feminine.
If the invite says Cocktail, your look should be elegant and dazzling.
