Michelle started the year strong with a starring role in Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" and is ending it even stronger with a Golden Globe nomination for her work in "Blue Valentine," a heart-wrenching drama about the demise of a marriage. It was Michelle's idea to gain 15 pounds to play Cindy by reportedly eating a pint of coconut milk ice cream for breakfast and dinner, with avocado sandwiches in between. These days, however, the modern fashion icon is back to her svelte self, masterfully showing off her quirky mixture of feminine looks with an edge. (For the record, Michelle was way ahead of this year's crop-top craze; she cut hers in 2007.)
