At New York Fashion Week, Oscar de la Renta Dressed Grown Women Like Disney Princesses

On their own, the finale gowns of Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2013 show at New York Fashion week are fairly beautiful. But when the designer took his bow at the show's end, he had us wondering if we were looking at a leaked souvenir photo of Oscar with a couple of princesses at Disneyworld. Oscar's show--as is standard--was packed with impeccably constructed, color-saturated, expertly embroidered pieces that we're confident will make at least one appearance at the Oscars.

We wonder if John Galliano--who has been apprenticing in Oscar's studio--had a hand in the fantastical design. The exiled former Dior helm was known the world over for his whimsical, circus-like creations, before getting fired from Dior and fined $8,400 after an incoherent hate speech rambling in 2011.

What do you think of the gowns? Are they too cartoonish for your liking? Let us know.
