What skirt best flatters your body type?

Last year it was short shorts—but this summer skirts are the hottest leg-baring garment to rock.  A variety of styles and designs are in vogue  this season---and we’re highlighting the best one for YOUR body type.

Pear-shaped

  Give a mullet skirt a try.  These make your waist look tiny and flatter your hips.  Choose one in a sheer layered pastel, pair with a tank top and anchor the look with a substantial chunky leather high-heeled sandal. 

 

Tall & Thin

 Opt for a tiered skirt in a bold stripe pattern.   This will create a more feminine, curvy shape by adding volume.  Top with a simple fitted tee.  Keep it casual with embellished flats.

Curvy

Go for a neon bodycon skirt that accentuates your curves and smoothes out your thighs.  Add a loose-fitting, scoop neck top and neutral colored wedges. 

Plus-sized

Invest in a pencil skirt in a bold color.  This style is great because it skims over your thighs and hips, yet makes a big statement. On top, chose a TK shirt in a a contrasting color, and finish with a patterned peep toe.

Apple-shaped

Peplum skirts because the shorter skirt layer conceals a tummy and the way it flares out creates a waist.  Pair with a black top and black strappy sandals.

Petite

You want a mini skirt with volume and a thick waistband.  This will create a defined waist and you can carry off the volume because of your small size. Choose a printed one and pair it with a fitted, brightly colored top to strike the right balance. Finish with neutral sandals with gold details.
