The pinned-down ponytail
If you’re looking to put the focus on your eyes, this elegant and mod style is a fantastic option. Start by giving your hair a spritz of heat-protection spray, then straighten with a flat iron. Apply antifrizz cream to smooth out strands even more. Pull the hair back into a high ponytail. Wrap the base of the ponytail with a thin section of hair, and use a pin to secure. Flip the ponytail forward, and use two pins to anchor it to the crown. Then bend the tail over on itself and pin down using a hair ornament or a barrette.
Sophisticated, sexy waves
This look can work for a casual situation or be glammed up for a night out. First, create soft waves with a large-barrel curling iron. Twist each wave into a tight pile, and secure them with a clip to set. When they’ve cooled, flip your head forward and brush the waves out. Amp up the definition with a texturizing wax and you’re done.
