$136 million in gems stolen in brazen daytime hotel heist

A lone robber made off with $136 million worth of gems in a heist at the Carlton Hotel on the French Riviera. According to police, the robber walked into the lobby with a scarf over his face, pulled out a gun, and tipped the precious stones into a briefcase before disappearing into the crowd on the seaside promenade.
