Manchin: Without NRA pressure, background check proposal would get 70 votes

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., whose amendment to expand background checks on gun purchases failed in the Senate - sounding the death knoll for reforms to cut back on gun violence - told CBS News that though Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., indefinitely suspended debate on gun legislation, the fight is "far" from over.
