The Early Years After years of touring Europe with her mother Helga, a German opera singer, Bullock became fluent in German. When she returned to the states, Bullock claims to have been reportedly teased for her German-inspired clothing at school.

A Struggling Actress Bullock was only three credits away from graduating from college when she dropped out and moved to New York to become an actress. When she wasn't auditioning, Bullock supported herself by bartending and waitressing. She ended up becoming successful in both worlds-she not only became one of the highest grossing actresses in the world, but also ended up going back and graduating from college.

Starting On The Stage Believe it or not, Bullock got started on the stage. She spent her early years taking small roles in her mother's operas and singing in a children's choir. Personal Life While Bullock was once engaged to her 'Love Potion No. 9' co-star Tate Donovan, her only marriage was to the 'Monster Garage' host Jesse James.
