These days, it seems like everything's causing cancer, doesn't it? Take cell phones, for instance. Rumors of health risks associated with cell phone use have had people buzzing for years. Studies on the subject have been inconclusive, or at least unsatisfactory, until now ...

According to an article from U.S. News and World Report, we can all take a little sigh of relief--and answer the phone right now. A major study, which was just published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, over the course of 30 years, has found "no substantial change in prevalence" of brain tumors due to cell phone use.

Good news for you and your Blackberry, right (um, I don't think I can live without mine!)? Still, we have to remember that cell phones haven't been around that long. It's only been in the last 10 years that every person, child and dog owned a cell phone (OK, my golden retriever doesn't have one, but still), so I suspect this isn't the last word on cell phone use and our health. Still, I think we can feel good about this news and consider it one less thing to be paranoid about, right?

P.S. Important note to parents: This study did not look at the specifics of cell phone use and children. And, many top health experts believe that cell phones could affect children's developing brains. It's your call, but if you let your child use a cell phone frequently, you might do a little reading up on the topic.
