Celebrate Positive Thinking Day: A Sentence A Day Keeps The Shrink Away

By Perri O. Blumberg, REDBOOK

In honor of Positive Thinking Day, us staffers decided to consider little tweaks in our daily routine that we could use to improve our Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), an army phrase. Of course, we first consulted our bible of all things PMA: Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project. We were struck by the idea of her One Sentence Diary where you jot a highlight from your day (about as much journaling as we can take). You can handwrite in a journal or keep a running list on your computer. You could even create a private Twitter account for 140 characters or less of journaling goodness. Whatever works for you.

You'll create a storehouse of memories, and on particularly crappy days, the PMA journal forces you to scrape your brain for that silver lining.

So, go grab an empty journal-we think the ones from Kate's Paperie are so cute-and start recording all those tiny little moments. See if it makes you any happier, and tell us now: What was your happy moment of the day?
