Life is sunny for Doutzen Kroes. The 26-year-old Dutch supermodel recently married DJ Sunnery James, is mother to their adorable 8-month-old son Phyllon, and is one of four Victoria's Secret Angels to grace the October cover of Elle. Recently, Doutzen told us that hitting the runway, as she will for the Victoria's Secret fashion show in November, often requires an inner pep talk. "Many times I'm nervous or shy," she said. "But I know that it has to happen, because people expect it from me. So I make a little switch inside. I think, 'I can stand here and not know what to do - or go for it and do the best I can.' It works, and then the confidence comes naturally." And while Doutzen has become a beauty icon as an adult, primping wasn't always part of her routine. "I didn't grow up having my nails done or blow-drying my hair," she says. "But things are changing [in the Netherlands]." Now, the 5'10" stunner counts these tips as the best she's picked up during her career: use an eyelash curler if you have light lashes, clean your skin before going to bed, and find as much work-life balance as possible. It's sound advice for all women, supermodels or not.
