Just What We Needed: A Bikini-Area Beauty Anthem

By Sarah Wexler, Allure magazine

Recently I interviewed a bikini waxer on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (a decidedly conservative part of NYC), and she told me that 40-percent of her clients still go completely bare, without even a landing strip.

Well, Amanda Palmer, (a solo artist who is also one-half of the rock band the Dresden Dolls) has released a racy, silly music video about all of the different shapes women grow their pubic hair into, her favorite being "Map of Tasmania." Runners-up: a triangle, roses, decks of cards, famous works of art, boxes of chocolate.

(NSFW warning: The video is more funny than obscene, but you still might not want your boss to walk up behind you with TPS reports while you're watching it.)

She seems to be tired of women going bikini-area bald, singing, "They shave it all/That's so whack/It hurts with the stubble."

How do you groom? Do you agree with Palmer's down-below beauty ideal or do you still go Bald Eagle?
