Quick Bathroom Update: Part 1

Claire RichardsonClaire Richardson

Instantly brighten your bathroom with a sink skirt made from cheerful, easy-to-launder fabric. You'll find a huge selection at reprodepot.com, or simply repurpose a shower or window curtain.

HOW-TO: Purchase a small dowel rod that measures the length of your countertop. Cut fabric to desired length, leaving an inch or two long if you'd like the skirt to puddle. Sew a loop pocket along the width of one side of fabric. Slip dowel through the pocket and attach to underside of countertop. Or if you aren't nimble with a needle and thread, attach the skirt using hook-and-loop fasteners.

If you don't have a linen closet, the space underneath your sink can double as storage for towels, shower curtains, or even sheets. Look for straw or wicker baskets that are large enough to hold your wares but also will be easily concealed by a decorative piece of fabric.
