Some old wives tales are actually pretty wise. Take the vinegar-as-a-fat-fighter one. Researchers in Japan have found new evidence that supports the idea that vinegar can help stop weight gain and increases in body fat. Though previous research had found that vinegar might help stabilize blood pressure and blood sugar levels, this new study shows the significant impact that it had on mice who ate a high-fat diet-it turned on genes that produce proteins that break down fat.
