The "most searched" gifts of the season
It's always a challenge to find the perfect gift, so today we're revealing what's popular and trending this holiday according to Yahoo search results, so you can learn what's peaking interests across the country and on wish lists everywhere.
When it comes to toys, it's the "Squinkie" that's topping online searches, and so are those other furry oddities, "Pillow Pets". And don't be surprised to find "Toy Story" toys and "John Deere" toys on wish lists because parents are searching high and low for them on line. We're also fans of Sing-A-Ma-Jigs, Loopz and Paper Jamz. All three of these toys showed up on toy expert's top toys lists this season. And no matter what toys your kids are asking for, they don't need to cost a fortune because Walmart has literally thousands of Toys for Under $10 and 20,000 gifts under $5.
Next, the pint-sized phenom Justin Bieber showed up on Yahoo's Most Searched Year In Review Top Ten list for 2010. So here's a little Justin for the holidays….the Justin Bieber Backstage Pass Board Game. When it comes to electronics, everyone has "reading" in mind as the "Kindle" and "Nook" are trending the most in this search category. But games are spiking too, with "Nintendo DSi" and "XBox360" leading the list. Walmart also has Sony Playstation 3 and XBox Kinect on their shelves so you shouldn't have any problem finding electronic games for everyone in the family this year. Our budget friendly suggestion in the electronic category is the Kodak C195 Digital Camera. And speaking of staying on budget, if our "search" gift ideas aren't enough, then try the "gift finder" at Walmart. You can access it from Walmart.com. You enter the gender, age and price range, and the finder instantly gives you a variety of gift ideas and the gift ideas refresh everyday.
In the fashion category there is a clear winner in search - the "UGG" boot, and all of their imitators. We found boots at Walmart and the crazy trend called "jeggings," the jean style leggings, which are all the rage online.
Perfume is such a romantic gift and if search is an indicator, you can't go wrong with the number one searched perfume - "Gucci." Walmart also carries fragrance favorites Tommy Girl in a gift set for her, and Nautica Classic, Voyage and Blue Fragrance for him.
Jewelry is also a holiday favorite. And here's a hint for all you men - - go for the earrings! That's what's topping search, in particular diamond stud earrings. Diamond studs are a classic and they go with everything. And 14k gold earrings are also topping the search results in the jewelry category. And yes, we found both the diamond and gold earrings at Walmart.
