Before I get to those popular searches… did you know women spend more time online than men? Eight-percent more, according to the new report from comScore, Women on the Web: How Women are Shaping the Internet. That includes social networking, instant messaging, and emails. And here's what the comScore study found were the top 5 health-related categories women search online: Weight and Fitness, Health Conditions, Doctor Searches, WebMD, and Health Insurance. The longer you sit, the shorter you live
If you're sitting down as you read this, get up and move after you finish, okay? A new study in the American Journal of Epidemiology finds the more you sit around, the shorter your average life span, even if you exercise regularly. Researchers say the obvious reason for the connection is that the more you sit, the less total energy you use which can lead to weight gain and in turn, can raise your risk for various diseases.

The more you log on, the more the weight stays off

When it comes to keeping the pounds away, consistency and accountability pay off. A new report from Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research finds the more you use an interactive weight management website, the more weight you keep off. When researchers analyzed an Internet-based weight maintenance program, they found those who logged on and recorded their weight at least once a month for two-and-a-half years maintained the most weight loss.
