Three Easy Steps to Glowing Skin

Like most women, glowing skin is our holy grail. So when we caught up with celeb makeup artist Carmindy at a recent event for Glowelle skin supplements, we had to ask the obvious: What don't we know?

1. It's all about buffing the skin. "Foundation should look sheer and light," she says. So apply your favorite formula using a non-latex sponge (such as those made by Alcone). Use one side to swipe on a thin layer of base, and then go over your skin once more with the clean side of the sponge to buff away any excess.

2. The bigger the brush, the better. Use a giant brush for applying blush (we like Kevyn Aucoin Beauty The Blush/Powder Brush)-it'll pick up less powder than traditional blush brushes, for a prettier flush of color.

3. Highlight right.
In the summer, choose a creamy highlighter; dab it above the cheekbones, and as Carmindy loves to do, under your lower lip and at the cupid's bow. "It enhances the shape of the lips," she says. (Try Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy Natural Highlighter). Powder highlighters go on heavier, and are best reserved for fall and winter.
