Total Recall Notice - All ready to drink cans of Slim Fast recalled
Do Not Drink your Slim Fast. Unilever has recalled all flavors, lot numbers, and UPC codes of their ready-to-drink Slim Fast drinks in cans. The cans affected by the recall were distributed nationally. The voluntary recall is due to the possibility of contamination with the bacteria called Bacillus cereus .
This bacterial micro-organism causes diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting in humans and is a known cause of food poisoning. The chance for serious adverse reactions are small. Unilever is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration with this recall and is trying to determine where the bacteria entered the product in their manufacturing system. Slim Fast ready to drink cans are the only products recalled. Slim Fast powdered shakes and snack/meal bars are not recalled.
Unilever is asking people to throw away their cans and call 1-800-896-9479 for a full refund. Unilever has full details on their website. Here is a listing of all recalled products .
