It was the best of times and the worst of times in 2010

If there's something I can never be accused of, it's not thinking. No, I'm about as introspective as they come. And when I was taught that quote about an unexamined life not being worth living, I finally found validation for my way of life. With that in mind, 2010 was a big year for me, a year of growth, of life changing events, of countless opportunities, of healing and heartache.

These are the top 10 posts of 2010 on Suddenly Single Journey, shared in chronological order:

1. The Broken Road... A post that gives some of the back story of our relationship. It was leading up to the next two posts.

2. First Comes Love... In which I explained how scary love was for him, how difficult it was for him to accept, admit, and recognize those feelings.

3. It was the perfect proposal... Yeah, he popped the question on Valentine's Day.

4. Friday at Yahoo! I told all about the day I spent on the Yahoo! campus with the Mother Board. It was an amazing experience, for which I am truly grateful. (Big hugs, Jeanne and Amy!)

5. More pressing issues... My daughter suffered her first break up and the blog readers rallied around her. Really sweet and touching.

6. A little back story... I shared the story of my adoption at birth and how my fiance wants to help me find my birth mother.

7. Happiness is a gift we give to ourselves... Every Thursday, I write a happiness post. I think it's important to choose to be happy. This was my theory on happiness. It was retweeted like crazy, so it apparently struck a chord in others.

8. Happiness is being a scared vessel... This was the post that announced my pregnancy in October.

9. Happiness is having someone to grieve with... And this is the post that six weeks later, on Thanksgiving Day, announced the miscarriage I had the day before.

10. Just right... A post about recovering and getting life back together. My first truly happy weekend since our loss.

It's been an amazing year. I can't wait to see what 2011 brings. I expect more ups and downs, hopefully more ups than downs. And with some luck and effort, our love and our family will grow.
